The report highlights the exceptional financial performance of both Florim and the Fin-Floor Group, emphasizing the strategic choices made in previous years and the dedication and commitment of the entire Florim team.
Economic Success Amidst Global Challenges: Despite geopolitical instability, energy price hikes, and uncertainties in the global economy, the results achieved by the Group in 2022 showcased remarkable growth in all sustainability indicators. President Claudio Lucchese expressed his gratitude to the Florim team for their hard work and resilience in the face of such challenges, underscoring the strategic importance of sustainability to the company.
New Projects and Milestones: The report highlights a year filled with new projects and significant milestones. Notably, Florim opened flagship stores in Paris and Rome, adding to its international design district presence, which is set to reach 10 locations by the end of 2023. Furthermore, Florim secured the first place in the international competition “La Fabbrica nel Paesaggio,” promoted by UNESCO Clubs, for its achievements in ecological transition while respecting the landscape and environment.
Financial Highlights: The consolidated turnover for 2022 amounted to 584 million euros, representing a remarkable increase of over 22%. The company also invested 152 million euros, showing significant growth compared to the previous year. Over the past 11 years, Florim has invested 58 million euros in environmental sustainability initiatives, with approximately 8 million euros invested in 2022 alone.
Environmental Commitment: Florim’s environmental efforts have resulted in the avoidance of 129,388 tons of CO2 emissions since 2012, with an additional 18,346 tons avoided in 2022. The company has initiated a decarbonization project, aiming to measure the impact of its activities and develop a strategy for progressive emissions reduction. In 2023, Florim launched a pilot project for e-mobility, utilizing electric trucks to transport slabs between the Mordano and Fiorano facilities, resulting in the avoidance of approximately 560 tons of CO2 emissions per year. Additionally, the installation of a new 4.5 MWp photovoltaic system in Mordano brings Florim’s total installed capacity to 12.3 MWp from 64,000 m2 of solar panels.
Social Responsibility and Community Engagement: Florim continues to prioritize its employees and local communities through its social responsibility initiatives, supported by the Ing. Giovanni Lucchese Foundation. The report highlights the impact measurement of the Florim Health and Training Center on doctors, employees, and the surrounding area, initiated in 2021. In 2022, Florim celebrated ten years of its “Summer Centers” project and established a collaboration with the MAXXI Museum in Rome.
Future Commitments: As a Benefit Company, Florim annually prepares an impact report that outlines its future objectives. Among the goals stated are the renewal of B Corp certification, reduction of water and raw material consumption, emissions reduction, implementation of new photovoltaic systems, and the establishment of a new agreement with the Sassuolo Hospital for the benefit of employees and the local community.
